How does Disney tell the story of a lion becoming king in 2019? Well, largely the same way it did in 1994, but with photorealistic computer-generated imagery (CGI).
Jon Favreau’s remake of “The Lion King” (in theaters Friday) brings Simba, Nala, Scar and the whole pride back to the big screen with new voice talent but much of the original plot intact. Fans of the animated classic get those moments they love: Simba’s sneeze, the cub’s presentation to the kingdom, Timon and Pumbaa’s vulture-kicking entrance. Even much of the dialogue is identical to that of the 25 year old movie.
But there are some changes that add a half-hour of running time to the story. Here are a few notable updates, aside from the obvious fact that the animals no longer look like cartoons.
The Lion King is a 2019 American musical film directed and produced by Jon Farveau,, written by Jeff Nathanson, and produced by Walt Disney Picture.It is a photorealistic computer-animated remake of Disney’s traditionally animated 1994 film The Lion King. The film stars the voices of Donald Glovar, Seth Rogen, Chiwetel, Alfre Woodard, Billy Eicher,John Kani, John Oliver and Beyonce Knowels Carter, as well as James Earl Jones reprising his role from the original. The plot follows Simba, a young lion who must embrace his role as the rightful king of his native land following murder of his father, Mufasa, at the hands of his uncle, Scar.
Plans for a remake of The Lion King were confirmed in September 2016 following the success of Disney’s The Jungle Book, also directed by Favreau.
The film is scheduled to be theatrically released in the United States on July 19, 2019. It received mixed reviews, with praise for its visual effects, musical score and vocal performances, but criticism for its facial animations and lack of originality.

‘सिम्बा’ की आवाज बने हैं शाहरुख खान के बेटे आर्यन खान. ‘सिम्बा’ वो क्राउन प्रिंस, जिसे उसके अंकल ‘स्कार’ झुंड से बाहर निकाल देता है.आशीष विद्यार्थी ने ‘द लॉयन किंग’ के विलेन ‘स्कार’ को अपनी आवाज दी है.श्रेयस तलपड़े इस फिल्म में ‘टिमोन’ की आवाज बनेंगे।संजय मिश्रा ने फिल्म में ‘पुम्बा’ को अपनी आवाज दी है.
बॉलीवुड के दिग्गज अभिनेता असरानी ने ‘द लायन किंग’ के ‘जाजू’ के लिए डब किया है.’द लॉयन किंग’ को जेफ नाथनसन ने लिखा है. ओरिजिनल एनिमेटिड क्लासिक डिज्नी की जानी-मानी फिल्मों में से एक है. यह इंग्लिश, हिंदी, तमिल और तेलगु में 19 जुलाई को सिनेमाघरों में आएगी.
