Taapsee Pannu-starrer Thappad hit the silver screens on February 28. The film is directed by Anubhav Sinha and got a decent start at the box office by earning Rs 3.07 crore on day 1.
The film saw a rise in collections on day 2 and day 3 by earning Rs 5.05 crore and Rs 6.54 crore respectively. However, it failed to pass the crucial first Monday test and witnessed a dip in collections by earning Rs 2.26 crore. The total collections of Thappad stood at Rs 14.66 crore till Monday.
Sharing the latest collections of Thappad on Twitter, Taran Adarsh wrote, “#Thappad stays at Day 4 levels on Day 5… Needs to maintain the trend on Day 6 and 7 *and* most importantly, stay steady at multiplexes when #Baaghi3 arrives… Fri 3.07 cr, Sat 5.05 cr, Sun 6.54 cr, Mon 2.26 cr, Tue 2.21 cr. Total: ? 19.13 cr.
Thappad marks Taapsee Pannu’s second collaboration with Anubhav Sinha. The duo previously worked together in Mulk.
Thappad tells the story of Amrita (Taapsee Pannu), who shares a warm relationship with her husband (Pavail Gulati) until he slaps her in front of everyone at a party. It is after this incident that she decides to file for a divorce.
The film stars Kumud Mishra, Dia Mirza, Geetika Vidya Ohlyan and Ratna Pathak Shah among others in supporting roles.

बॉलीवुड एक्ट्रेस तापसी पन्नू की फिल्म ‘थप्पड़ ‘ को रिलीज हुए पूरे पांच दिन हो गए हैं. हालांकि, फिर भी फिल्म की कमाई में कोई खास उछाल देखने को नहीं मिल रही है. घरेलू हिंसा की शिकार हुई महिलाओं पर बनीं इस फिल्म का फैन्स को बड़ी ही बेसब्री से इंतजार था. हालांकि, तापसी की यह फिल्म उम्मीदों पर खरी नहीं उतर पाई. वहीं, फिल्म ‘थप्पड़’ की कहानी तो काफी बेहतरीन है, लेकिन फिल्म को दर्शकों से कुछ खास रिस्पांस नहीं मिल रहा है. कमाई के शुरुआती आंकड़ों को देखते हुए ये अंदाजा लगाया जा रहा है कि ‘थप्पड़’ ने बीत दिन 3.50 करोड़ रुपये की कमाई की
तापसी पन्नू की फिल्म ‘थप्पड़’ ने सोमवार को 5 करोड़ रुपये का कलेक्शन किया था. इस हिसाब से ‘थप्पड़ ‘ ने इन चार दिनों में फिल्म 21.25 करोड़ रुपये की कमाई की है. हालांकि, इसके अभी तक कोई आधिकारिक आंकड़ें नहीं आए हैं. फिल्म की शुरुआत पहले दिन काफी खराब रही है लेकिन अनुमान लगाया जा रहा है कि फिल्म धीरे-धीरे बॉक्स ऑफिस पर अपनी पकड़ बना लेगी. तापसी पन्नू की ‘थप्पड़’ को फिल्म समीक्षक काफी पसंद कर रहे हैं.
वहीं, फिल्म की कहानी की बात करें, तो यह फिल्म अमृता (तापसी पन्नू )और उनके पति विक्रम (पावेल गुलाटी) की जिंदगी पर आधारित है. जहां, अमृता एक गृहणी हैं, वहीं, विक्रम एक कंपनी में अच्छे पद पर कार्यरत हैं. लेकिन इन दोनों की जिंदगी में बदलाव तब आता है, जब एक पार्टी के दौरान विक्रम, अमृता को सबसे सामने एक ‘थप्पड़’ मार देता हैं. इसस हादसे से अमृता का आत्म-सम्मान चोटिल हो जाता है. वह कुछ नहीं बोलती पर विक्रम को भी अपनी गलती का एहसास नहीं होता है. इसके बाद अमृता विक्रम से तलाक लेने के लिए कोर्ट में अर्जी डालती है.
