Shoojit Sircar announced his next film Sardar Udham Singh with Vicky Kaushal. A month later, the makers have already started shooting for the film in Russia. And the first look of Vicky Kaushal as freedom fighter Sardar Udham Singh is out.
Dressed in a winter overcoat with a hat in his hand, Vicky Kaushal looks intense in the new stills. With his slick back hair and clean shaven look, Vicky has piqued the curiosity with this new avatar.
Sardar Udham Singh traces the life story of the revolutionary who assassinated Michael O’Dwyer, who was the Governor of Punjab when the Jalianwala Bagh Massacre took place in 1919. Over a protesters in Amritsar, and the incident became a turning point in the history of British rule in India.
Vicky Kaushal and Yami Gautam’s Uri: The Surgical Strike is still managing to gain audience attention and perform well despite being in theatres for more than a month. Debutant director, Aditya Dhar’s war drama movie has managed to rake in Rs. 1.66 crore first day, taking its total collection to Rs 214.56 crore so far.

‘मसान’, ‘राजी’ और उरी: द सर्जिकल स्ट्राइक’ जैसी फिल्मो से लोगो के दिलो में ख़ास जगह बना चुके एक्टर विक्की कौशल इन दिनों एक हॉरर कॉमेडी फिल्म पर काम कर रहे है. इसके साथ ही उन्होंने शुजीत सरकार की अगली फिल्म की शूटिंग भी रूस में शुरू कर दी है जो कि फ्रीडम फाइटर उधम सिंह की बायोपिक है.
फिल्म ‘सरदार उधम सिंह’ से विक्की कौशल का फर्स्ट लुक सामने आया है, जिसमे वे काफी इंटेंस नज़र आ रहे है, जो तस्वीर सामने आ रही है, उसे देखकर ऐसा लग रहा है जैसे सुजीत विक्की को शूट के बारे में समझा रहे हो. यह फिल्म 2020 में रिलीज़ होगी।
इससे पहले शुजीत ने बताया था कि उन्हें विक्की की इंटेंसिटी काफी पसंद है जो कि रोल के लिए परफेक्ट है. डायरेक्टर के मुताबिक, चूकि विक्की सिख है तो बहादुर सेनानी को पर्दे पर बेहतरीन तरिके से दिखाने की उनकी बड़ी जिम्मेदारी है.
बायोपिक में भारत के स्वतंत्रता संग्राम के लिए दिए गए उस महत्वपूर्ण योगदान को दिखाया जाएगा जिसे नज़रअंदाज कर दिया गया. यह कहानी है एक निडर शहीद की जिसने अमृतसर में जलियावाला बाग हत्याकांड का बदला लेने के लिए, पंजाब के पूर्व लेफ्टिनेंट गवर्नर माइकल ओ डायर की हत्या की थी.
उधम सिंह गदर पार्टी का हिस्सा थे और उन्होंने अंग्रेजो को उखाड़ फेंकने के लिए विदेशो में भारतीय को इकट्ठा किया था। जब वह भारत लौटे तो उन्हें बिना लाइसेंस के हथियार रखने के लिए अरेस्ट कर लिया गया. जेल से छूटने के बाद वह जर्मनी चले गए और वहा से लंदन चले गए. 13 मार्च 1940 को उन्होंने ओ डायर को मारा। बाद में उन्हें हत्या का दोषी मानते हुए 31 जुलाई 1940 में फांसी दी गयी थी.
