Actress Janhvi Kapoor and Rajkumar Rao have come together for producer Dinesh Vijan’s film Rooh-Afja, which also features Varun Sharma in key role. This will be Rajkumar’s third collaboration with Dinesh Vijan after Stree and Made in China.
“For ‘Rooh Aza’, we needed actors who could jump into their roles with unabashed conviction. Rajkumar and Varun are phenomenal actors, comedy is a space they excel in and own,” Vijan said in a statement.
Produced by Vijan and Mrighdeep Singh Lamba, the film will be directed by debutant Hardik Mehta.
Lamba said: “We took some time to finalise the female lead. Besides being pretty, she needed to oscillate between two characters which are poles apart. You will fall in love with her in one scene and won’t believe she is the same girl in the next one. It’s not an easy switch for an actor. It’s the perfect casting.”
The shooting will start in Uttar Pradesh this June and the film is slated to release on March 20, 2020.

मराठी फिल्म ‘सैराट’ के रीमेक ‘धड़क’ से बॉलीवुड में डेब्यू करने वालीं जाह्न्वी कपूर इन दिनों अपनी अपकमिंग फिल्म ‘रूही अफ्ज़ा’ की शूटिंग में बिजी हैं। हाल में फिल्म के सेट से जाह्न्वी के कुछ फोटोज सोशल मीडिया पर लीक हो गए हैं जो की काफी वायरल हो रहे हैं। वायरल फोटोज में जाह्न्वी एक दम सादा यानी सिंपल लुक में नजर आ रही हैं।
जाहन्वी ने बालों की सादा चोटी बांध रखी है और ऑरेंज और ग्रीन कलर का सिंपल से सलवार सूट पहना हुआ है। सूटे के ऊपर उन्होंने जैकेट पहन रखी है और एक बैग टांग रखा है। जाहन्वी की इन फोटोज से इतना तो समझ आ रहा है कि वो गेट पर खड़े होकर किसी का इंतजार कर रही हैं। कुछ दिन पहले भी जाहन्वी का इसी सूट में एक वीडियो भी सामने आया था जिसमें वो अपने फैंस के बीच में से निकलकर जा रही थीं।
बता दें कि इस फिल्म में जाह्नवी के अपोजिट राजकुमार राव लीड रोल में नजर आएंगे। इस फिल्म का नाम पहले ‘रूह अफ्ज़ा’ रखा गया था लेकिन बाद में इस फिल्म का नाम बदलकर ‘रूही अफ्ज़ा’ कर दिया गया। चूंकि यह नाम एक फूड ब्रांड के नाम से क्लैश कर रहा था और इसे लेकर कोई विवाद न पैदा हो फिल्म का नाम बदला गया। हालांकि प्रोड्यूसर दिनेश विजन ने नए टाइटल को कहा कि जाह्नवी इस फिल्म में रुही और आफ्जा नाम के दो किरदार यानी डबल रोल निभा रही हैं। इसलिए इस फिल्म का नाम रूही अफ्ज़ा’ कर दिया गया।
