Actor Tapsee Pannu will essay the role of athlete Rashmi from Gujarat in her upcoming film, titled Rashmi Rocket. The first motion poster of the movie was unveiled Friday morning. Directed by Akarsh Khuranna, the film will be bankrolled by Ronnie Screwvalla’s RSVP Movies.
Taapsee plays the lead role in the film that about Gujarat’s athlete Rashmi. Folks from her village fondly call her Rashmi Rocket, given her speed.
Producer Ronnie told the website that Rashmi Rocket is the story of “a girl who achieves and conquers in her field despite all the adversities.”
Taapsee is currently awaiting the release of her another sports biopic, Saand Ki Aankh, in which she and Bhumi Pednekar portray the role of world’s oldest sharpshooters — Chandro Tomar and Prakashi Tomar – from Uttar Pradesh.
The Rashmi Rocket motion poster has a visibly brown-faced Taapsee Pannu in traditional clothing running amidst white sand. Her look is quite rugged. She races past till the frame changes into a racing track where she’s seen in a runner’s outfit finishing a race. The short clip does give off some intense vibes as a determined Taapsee takes off.

नंदा परियासामी की रियल लाइफ स्टोरी पर आधारित फिल्म ‘रश्मि रॉकेट’ का मोशन पोस्टर रिलीज हो गया है। इस पोस्टर में तापसी पन्नू कच्छ का रण में दौड़ते हुए नजर आ रही हैं। जो दौड़ते-दौड़ते रनिंग ट्रैक पर पहुंच जाती हैं। फिल्म का डायरेक्शन आकर्ष खुराना कर रहे हैं।
तापसी ने मोशन पोस्टर अपने इंस्टाग्राम पर शेयर किया है। इसके पहले उन्होंने फिल्म में अपने लुक की कुछ झलकियां भी शेयर की थीं। जिसमें उनके हाथों में, गले में गोदना बना हुआ है और उनका लुक गुजरात के गांव की लड़की का है।
तापसी पन्नू की यह तीसरी फिल्म है जो किसी खेल पर आधारित है। इसके पहले वे दिलजीत दोसांझ के साथ सूरमा में हॉकी खेलती नजर आई थीं। वहीं शूटर दादी चंद्रो तोमर पर बनी फिल्म सांड की आंख इसी साल दीवाली पर रिलीज हो रही है। अब एथलेटिक्स पर बन रही फिल्म रश्मि रॉकेट में भी एक खिलाड़ी के रूप में नजर आ रही हैं।
