The makers of ‘Hamid’, a film about an eight-year-old Kashmiri boy’s search for his missing father, have decided to postpone the release of the movie in the wake of Pulwama terror attacks.
Forty CRPF personnel were killed and five injured in one of the deadliest terror attacks in Jammu and Kashmir on Thursday, by a Jaish-e-Mohammed suicide bomber in South Kashmir’s Pulwama district.

“‘Hamid’ is cinema that unites. It carries a message of peace and hope in the most unlikely circumstances. We are under attack now and this is neither the time nor the right atmosphere for us to release our film or for people to absorb the narrative of the film. Hence we have decided to shift the date of release,” he added.
“The story of Hamid is of a relationship between a CRPF jawan and an 8-year-old Kashmiri boy by the name of ‘Hamid’. The film was made with the attempt to bridge the gap of alienation because that is the very root cause of what is happening in the valley. At this time, we feel that the very attempt of peace and the work that our Jawans are doing is being undermined,” said the film’s director Aijaz Khan
The character of the child protagonist in the film has been played by a young kashmiri boy, Talha Arshad Reshi. The film also stars performers Rasika Duggal, Vikas Kumar and Sumit Kaul.

वीपी फिल्म्स और टेलीविजन सारेगामा इंडिया व यूडली फिल्म के निर्माता सिद्धार्थ आनंद कुमार ने कहा, “पुलवामा जिले में सीआरपीएफ जवानों पर हमला ऐसे लोगों द्वारा किया गया जघन्य और नृशंस कृत्य है, जिनके भीतर मानवता की भावना खत्म हो चुकी है। यूडली फिल्म्स शोक की घड़ी में है और हमारे लिए अपनी फिल्म को रिलीज करने के लिए ये सही समय नहीं है। इसलिए हमने रिलीज की तारीख को बदलने का फैसला किया है। यह फिल्म 15 मार्च को रिलीज़ होगी।
निर्देशक ऐजाज खान कहते हैं, “हामिद की कहानी सीआरपीएफ के एक जवान और आठ साल के कश्मीरी लड़के ‘हामिद’ के बीच रिश्ते की है। फिल्म को अलगाव की खाई को पाटने की कोशिश के साथ बनाया गया क्योंकि घाटी में जो कुछ हो रहा है उसका मूल कारण यही है। इस समय, हमें लगता है कि शांति और हमारे जवान जो काम कर रहे हैं, उसे बहुत ही कम महत्व दिया जा रहा है।”
‘हामिद’ एक आठ साल के लड़के और एक सीआरपीएफ जवान के बीच संबंधों की पड़ताल करती है। दोनों संघर्ष और एक रिश्ते से डरे हुए हैं, जो उन्हें संघर्षग्रस्त कश्मीर में नजदीक आने में मदद करता है। फिल्म की शूटिंग पूरी तरह से कश्मीर में हुई है और आठ साल का एक स्थानीय कश्मीरी लड़का हामिद की भूमिका में है।
फिल्म में रसिका दुग्गल, विकास कुमार और सुमित कौल जैसे अन्य कलाकार मुख्य भूमिका में हैं।
