Legendary singer KJ Yesudas is celebrating his 80 th birthday today and fans of the charismatic musician have flooded social media with heart-felt wishes. Prime Minister Narendra Modi also wished the celebrated singer on the special occasion and shared on Twitter, “On the special occasion of his 80th birthday, greetings to the versatile K. J. Yesudas Ji.
His melodious music and soulful renditions have made him popular across all age groups. He has made valuable contributions to Indian culture. Wishing him a long and healthy life.”
In a glorious career spanning almost five decades, the ace musician has delivered popular songs like ‘Devude Icchadu Veedhi Okati’, ‘Navarasa Suma Malika’, ‘Jaaneman Jaaneman’, ‘Nee Oru Puzhayay’ and ‘Ente Ellam Ellam Alle’ to name a few. KJ Yesudas has crooned more than 50,000 songs in different Indian languages like Malayalam, Tamil, and Hindi. Apart from film songs, he has to his credit several devotional tracks, Carnatic classical compositions and festival numbers.
‘गोरी तेरा गांव बड़ा प्यारा’ गाने वाले केजे येसुदास का आज जन्मदिन है. उनके जन्मदिन पर पीएम नरेंद्र मोदी ने उन्हें 80वें जन्मदिन पर बधाई दी है. पीएम मोदी ने ट्वीट किया है कि बहुमुखी प्रतिभा के धनी केजे येसुदास को बधाई. उनके मधुर संगीत और गायन ने उन्हें सभी आयु वर्गों में लोकप्रिय बनाया. उन्होंने भारतीय संस्कृति में बहुमूल्य योगदान दिया है. मैं उनकी दीर्घायु और स्वस्थ जीवन के लिए कामना करता हूं.
येसुदास को गोरी तेरा गांव बड़ा प्यारा…, जब दीप जले आना…., मधुबन खुशबू देता है… दिल के टुकड़े टुकड़े करके, सरमई अंखियों में… और आज से पहले आज से ज्यादा…. जैसे गीतों ने येसुदास को घर-घर में जाना जाने वाला नाम बना दिया. इसे के चलते ‘चितचोर’ के संगीत निर्देशक रवींद्र जैन कहने लगे थे कि अगर उन्हें आंखें मिलीं तो वे सबसे पहले येसुदास को देखना चाहेंगे.
उन्होंने हिन्दी, मलयालम, रूसी, अरबी और लैटिन तमाम भाषाओं में गीत गाए हैं. उन्हें 7 बार सर्वश्रेष्ठ गायक का राष्ट्रीय पुरस्कार, पद्मश्री, पद्मभूषण जैसे सम्मान दिए जा चुके हैं.
