Actor Arjun Kapoor, Sanjay Dutt and Kriti Sanon have dropped their first look from the upcoming film, Panipat. Arjun is Maratha warrior Sadashivrao Bhau, Kriti Sanon is his wife and queen Parvati Bai while Sanjay essays the role of Afghan invader Ahmad Shah Abdali in Ashutosh Gowariker’s ambitious period piece. The trailer of the film is expected on Tuesday.
The film is based on the third battle of Panipat, which was fought between the northern expeditionary force of the Maratha Empire and the invading forces of the King of Afghanistan, Durrani. He had two Indian allies – the Rohilla Afghans of the Doab and Shuja-ud-Daula, the Nawab of Awadh. The event is significant in modern Indian history as it halted the march of the Maratha empire, eventually leading to the rise of the British in India.
Arjun plays the role of Maratha leader Sadashivrao Bhau while Kriti is Parvati Bai. Arjun had gone bald for the role, hiding his look with baseball caps for months. The historical period drama is highly awaited but has been largely kept under wraps.
The film also stars Mohnish Bahl, Padmini Kolhapure and Zeenat Aman. Produced by Sunita Gowariker and Rohit Shelatkar’s company Vision World, it is scheduled to release on December 6.

फिल्म ‘पानीपत’ की स्टार कास्ट के पोस्टर मंगलवार को रिलीज हुए। सबसे पहले संजय दत्त के लुक का पोस्टर सामने आया। इसके बाद कृति सेनन और अर्जुन कपूर के लुक का पोस्टर रिलीज हुआ है। फिल्म का ट्रेलर कल यानी 5 नवंबर को रिलीज किया जाएगा।
बताते चलें कि डायरेक्टर आशुतोष गोवारिकर फिल्म ‘पानीपत’ में राजा अहमद शाह अब्दाली का रोल संजय दत्त, सदाशिवराव भाऊ का रोल अर्जुन कपूर और पार्वती बाई का रोल कृति सेनन कर रही हैं। फिल्म में कृति सेनन अर्जुन कपूर की पत्नी का किरदार निभाते नजर आएंगी।
6 दिसंबर को रिलीज हो रही इस फिल्म में पानीपत की तीसरी लड़ाई दिखाई जाएगी। इस फिल्म में संजय दत्त के किरदार अफगान के राजा अहमद शाह अब्दाली और अर्जुन कपूर के किरदार सदाशिवराव भाऊ की लड़ाई को दिखाया जाएगा।
‘पानीपत’ में संजय दत्त, कृति सेनन और अर्जुन कपूर के अलावा पद्मिनी कोल्हापुरे भी नजर आएंगी। पद्मिनी कोल्हापुरे काफी दिनों के बाद बड़े पर्दे पर ऐक्टिंग करते दिखाई देंगी।
