Film producer Ekta Kapoor recently announced the upcoming film Mental Hai Kya that stars Kangana Ranaut and Rajkummar Rao. The National Award winning actors will be seen together after four years; they featured together in Vikas Bahl’s 2014 slice-of-life film Queen, which went on to become a career-defining film for Ranaut and catapulted her to superstardom.
Ekta Kapoor says, “Mental Hai Kya celebrates the beauty in imperfections and in being different and shouts out, Sanity is overrated! I’m thrilled to work with Kangana and Raj on this one,” as quoted by Mid-day in one of its reports.
The film has been written by Kanika Dhillon and will be helmed by National award-winning director Prakash Kovelamudi. Mental Hai Kya is speculated to be a different, quirky film that breaks the conventions. Having actors of the calibre of Ranaut and Rao on board, the film would definitely grab attention. Both the actors are known to take up challenging assignments and deliver A-grade performances.
