After a debacle like Half Girlfriend, filmmaker Mohit Suri is back. This time with an edgy revenge drama with a blend of romance, thrill and action. Titled Malang, the film will see Disha Patani, Aditya Roy Kapur, Anil Kapoor and Kunal Kemmu collaborate for the very first time.
“With Malang, I am essentially returning to genre I enjoy the most. It will be intense, edgy and mad. I hope Malang is as thrilling and exciting an experience for the audience to see as much as it has already been for me,” Mohit said in a statement.
The multi-star cast not only makes it the biggest contemporary revenge drama story in recent times but will also see each actor play an integral part in a never-seen-before narrative, claims a press release. This romantic thriller will also mark Suri’s return to the genre of revenge after the success of “Ek Villain.”
Said Suri, “With ‘Malang,’ I am essentially returning to the genre I enjoy the most – intense, edgy – and mad. I hope ‘Malang’ is as thrilling and exciting an experience for the audience as much as it has already been for me.”
“Malang” also marks the coming together of Suri, Kapur and Kumar after the box- office success of “Aashiqui 2” in 2013. Kumar said, “After ‘Aashiqui 2,’ which was a defining film in Mohit, Aditya and even my career as a producer, I am glad to back Mohit’s next directorial.”
“Malang” will be shot in Mauritius, Goa and Mumbai from this month.

फिल्म में दिशा पाटनी एक डांसर का रोल निभाएंगी, जिसे आदित्य के किरदार से प्यार हो जाएगा। आदित्य और मोहित ने इससे पहले आशिकी 2 जैसी सुपरहिट फिल्म दी है। टाइगर के साथ बाग़ी 2 में काम करने के बाद दिशा की बॉलीवुड में पूछ-परख पढ़ गई है। वो इस समय सलमान खान के साथ फिल्म भारत में काम कर रही हैं। इस फिल्म में उनका कटरीना कैफ की बराबरी का रोल है। दिशा पटानी को दक्षिण की मेगा बजट फिल्म संघमित्रा के लिए साइन किया गया है। ये उनका साऊथ में डेब्यू है। लेकिन दिशा का इंतज़ार अभी इसलिए लंबा होगा l संघमित्रा, ये योद्धा राजकुमारी की कहानी है। तेलुगु में बनने वाली ये फिल्म बेहद खर्चीली होगी और करीब 350 करोड़ रूपये की लागत आने वाली है।
संघमित्रा, आठवीं सदी की इस महिला योद्धा की कहानी में साऊथ स्टार जायम रवि और आर्यन की भी अहम् भूमिकाएं होंगी। फिल्म को तेलुगु के साथ तमिल और हिंदी में भी रिलीज़ करने का प्लान है।
