Kalank makers have finally dropped the trailer of the much awaited film. After watching the trailer, it is confirmed that Kalank is primarily a love story of Varun Dhawan’s character Zafar and Aalia Bhatt’s character Roop.
This is also a third person involved in their story-Aditya Roy Kpur as Dev. The story is set in the pre-Independent era of 1945 and has an ensemble cast including Sonakshi Sinha, Sanjay Dutt and Madhuri Dixit. There are also two dance numbers by Kriti Sanon and Kiara Adavani.
The trailer begins with a somber background score giving us a hint that this magnums opus is an intense drama. The colour, tone and the magnificent sets will remind you of Sanjay Leela Bhansali. If the trailer is anything to go by, Dutt and Dixit have little to do in the film. Kalank will also give you a glimpse of the heart wrenching partition scenes. Besides other, Kunal Kemmu makes an impressive appearance in the trailer. Also, in the end, we have a DDLJ-inspired scene but with a twist.
On a related note, Kalank marks the fourth collaboration of Varun and Alia on the big screen. The duo has earlier worked in Student of the Year, Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhaniya and Badrinath Ki Dulhania. Kalank has been directed by Abhishek Varman, who has earlier worked with Alia on 2 States.
The music of the film is composed by Pritam while lyrics written by Amitabh Bhattachary. Binod Pradhan is cranking the camera, and Shweta Venkat Mathew handles the editing department. With the film slated to release on 17th April 2019, the makers have release the trailer today.

कलंक फिल्म का ट्रेलर आज रिलीज़ कर दिया गया है. इस ट्रेलर के शुरुआत में आलिया कहती नज़र आ रही है, ‘मेरे गुस्से में लिए गए एक फैसले ने हम सबकी जिंदगी बर्बाद कर दी.’ एक तरफ आदित्य रॉय कपूर और सोनाक्षी सिन्हा की जोड़ी दिख रही है और वह कह रहे है कि मैं अपनी पत्नी से बहुत प्यार करता हू, व्ही दूसरी तरफ आदित्य और आलिया शादी के मंडप में फेरे लेते दिख रहे है.
अगले सीन में वरुण धवन शादीशुदा आलिया से इश्क फरमाते दिख रहे है और उनकी नज़रो में भी उनके लिए प्यार दीखता है. संजय दत्त वरुण को आलिया और आदित्य की जिंदगी से दूर होने की धमकी देते हुए दिख रहे है. पूरी कहानी रिश्तो की उलझी हुई डोर के बीच घूम रही है.
1940 के बैकग्राउंड पर बनी इस पीरियड ड्रामा फिल्म का निर्देशन अभिषेक वर्मन कर रहे है. फिल्म में संजय दत्त के आलावा आलिया भट्ट, वरुण धवन, माधुरी दीक्षित, सोनाक्षी सिन्हा और आदित्य रॉय कपूर लीड रोल में नज़र आएंगे।यह फिल्म 17 अप्रैल को रिलीज़ होगी।
कलंक के दो गाने घर मोरे परदेशिया और फर्स्ट क्लास के रिलीज़ होने के साथ साथ इस फिल्म का टाइटल ट्रैक ‘कलंक नहीं इश्क है ‘ रिलीज़ हो चूका है, जिसमे लीड एक्टर्स आलिया और वरुण धवन साथ दिखाई दे रहे है.
फिल्म कलंक का सेट बहुत ही शानदार बनाया गया है जो बॉलीवुड की फिल्मो के बढ़ते दायरे का सूचक है.
फिल्म की कहानी के बारे में अगर बात करे तो तीन उलझी हुई प्रेम कहानिया नज़र आती है. ट्रेलर की शुरुआत आलिया के जिस डायलॉग के साथ होती है, उसी से समझ आ रहा है कि आलिया फिल्म में वरुण से प्यार करती है लेकिन उनकी शादी आदित्य रॉय कपूर से हो जाती है. शादी हो जाने के बाद भी आलिया, वरुण से प्यार करती है. अब वो किसकी होगी ये तो फिल्म देखने से बाद ही पता चलेगा।
‘कलंक’ करण जोहर और उनके पिता यश जोहर का ड्रीम प्रोजेक्ट था, जिसकी कहानी 15 साल पहले लिखी गयी थी. अब देखना ये होगा कि 2004 में लिखी कहानी 2019 में बनी तो उसमे क्या नया होगा।
