It was in 2018 that Janhvi Kapoor started prepping for Gunjan Saxena biopic. And now months later, the makers have finally unveiled the first-look posters of the much-talked-about film Gunjan Saxena The Kargil Girl. Karan Johar, who is producing the film, took to social media to share the posters.
He wrote, “She was told ladkiyan pilot nahin banti, but she stood her ground & wanted to fly! Gunjan Saxena #TheKargilGirl releasing on 13th March, 2020.”
In the poster, Janhvi Kapoor can be seen holding a paper airplane in her hand.
For Gunjan Saxena The Kargil Girl, Janhvi Kapoor has stepped into the shoes of IAF pilot Gunjan Saxena.
Gunjan Saxena made history when she flew into a combat zone during the Kargil War and evacuated injured soldiers from Kargil in 1999. Despite facing fire, Gunjan and lieutenant Srividya Rajan, managed to bring the soldiers home. For her courage, Gunjan was bestowed with the Shaurya Chakra.
Sharing another poster of Gunjan Saxena The Kargil Girl, Karan wrote, “With unabashed courage & bravery, she made her domain in a man’s world. Gunjan Saxena – #TheKargilGirl, releasing on 13th March, 2020.”
Janhvi, who made her Bollywood debut with Shashank Khaitan’s Dhadak, has been shooting of the film for a long time. It is for the first time that Janhvi will be seen in a biopic.
Apart from Janhvi, the film also stars Angad Bedi and Pankaj Tripathi.
Angad Bedi, who essays the role of Janhvi’s on-screen brother in the film, had earlier called the actress “extremely hardworking and talented.”

श्रीदेवी की बिटिया जाह्नवी कपूर बॉलीवुड में डेब्यू के बाद से आए दिन सुर्खियों में बनी रहती हैं. जाह्नवी कपूर ‘धड़क’ के बाद किसी और फिल्म में तो दिखाई नहीं दी हैं लेकिन कई फिल्मों से उनका नाम जरूर जुड़ा है. अगर आप भी उनकी अगली फिल्म का इंतजार कर रहे हैं तो आपका वेट फाइनली ओवर हो चुका है. जाह्नवी कपूर की आने वाली फिल्म ‘गुंजन सक्सेना : द कारगिल गर्ल’ का पहला लुक सामने आ चुका है. हाल ही में जाह्नवी की इस अपकमिंग फिल्म का पोस्टर रिलीज कर दिया गया है. इस पोस्टर में जाह्नवी एकदम हटके लुक में नजर आ रही हैं. वहीं इस फिल्म के पोस्टर्स जितने खूबसूरत हैं उतनी ही दिलचस्प है इसकी कहानी.
निर्माता-निर्देशक करण जौहर ने कुछ समय पहले ही ये ऐलान किया था कि भारत की जांबाज बेटी गुंजन सक्सेना की जिंदगी पर आधारित फिल्म बनाने जा रहे हैं. धर्मा प्रोडक्शन के बैनर तले बनी इस फिल्म की तस्वीरें जब लीक हुई थीं तो हर कोई जाह्नवी का लुक देखने के लिए बेताब था. फाइनली फैंस का इंतजार खत्म हो चुका है और एक नहीं बल्कि तीन-तीन पोस्टर्स एक साथ रिलीज किए गए हैं. इस पोस्टर्स की खास बात इस पर लिखी टैगलाइन भी है- ‘लड़किया पायलट नहीं बनतीं’ और ‘भारत की पहली महिला एयरफोर्स ऑफिसर जो लड़ाई पर गई’.
इन पोस्टर्स के साथ ही फिल्म की रिलीज डेट का भी ऐलान कर दिया गया है. ये फिल्म 13 मार्च 2020 को रिलीज होने जा रही है. वहीं फिल्म का सरप्राइज अभिनेता पंकज त्रिपाठी भी होंगे. एक पोस्टर में वो जाह्नवी को गले लगाते नजर आ रहे हैं. इस फिल्म में पंकज त्रिपाठी जाह्नवी के पिता के किरदार में दिखाई देंगे. फिल्म में जाह्नवी, पंकज के अलावा इस फिल्म में अंगद बेदी, विनीत कुमार, मानव विज भी अहम भूमिकाओं में हैं.
