The first teaser of Taapsee Pannu’s Game Over, which will release in three languages this June, landed Wednesday afternoon and the visuals are nothing short of intriguing and chilling. The minute-long teaser promises the film will be high on suspense and thrills. Taapsee plays a wheelchair-bound character terrorised by an unknown identity.
The teaser hints that we all live two lives. The text “We all have two lives, the second one starts when we realise we only have one” makes it evident that the film is shrouded in mystery and all our questions will be answered when the film releases on June 14.
Directed by Ashwin Saravanan, who rose to fame with Nayantara starrer Maya, the film has been produced by YNot studios.
The film, which has music by Ron Yohann, has been shot simultaneously in Tamil and Telugu as well. Having shifted her base to Bollywood post Pink, Taapsee has been very choosy about her southern projects. Her last southern outing was Telugu film Neevevaro, a remake of Tamil film Adhe Kangal.
Ashwin Saravanan, who has previously helmed Tamil movies like Maya, Iravaakaalam and Kannada movie Aake, the movie is set to get a trilingual.
The teaser begins with an appeal to viewers to use headphones for the best experience. After a shot of miniature toys including Tom & Jerry, Wonderwoman, the focus of the visual shifts to Taapsee inserting a video game cartridge into the player. The 31-year-old actor can then be seen going for a run, having breakfast and getting a blanket thrown over her by her house-help.
Video games including Pac-Man, displaying the ‘Game Over’ screen that appears at the end of a game when one looses, can be seen. In fact, Taapsee seems to be playing the character of a video-game creator, going by this first glimpse into the upcoming movie.

बदला गर्ल तापसी पन्नू का नया गेम सामने आ गया है. एन्डगेम के सीजन में तापसी का ये नया गेम तमिल, तेलुगु और हिंदी में एक साथ खेला जायेगा। वह साउथ से ही हिंदी फिल्मो में आई और हिंदी सिनेमा में नाम कमाने के साथ साथ साउथ में भी अपनी कामयाबी की लकीर लम्बी करती जा रही है. उनकी ये नई फिल्म है, ‘गेम ओवर’.
फिल्म के नाम की तरह 90 के दशक में आने वाले विडिओ गेम्स की तरह ही होती है. इस टीज़र में कई सीन्स है जिन्हे देख ऐसा लगता है, मानो तापसी इन विडिओ गेम्स की दुनिया में ही रहती है. साथ ही वह एक कॉपी लिए स्केचिंग करते हुए भी नज़र आ रही है.
इसे देखने के बाद अनुमान लगता है कि अलग और एकांत में रहने वाली महिला है. वहीं टीज़र के अधिकतम हिस्से में तापसी एक व्हीलचेयर पर है. बीच बीच में घर में काम करने वाली महिला भी है. पुरे टीज़र में तापसी किसी अदृशय ताकत से डर्टी और खुद को बचाती नज़र आ रही है.
फिल्म का टीज़र काफी थ्रिलर हैं, जो दर्शको को सोच में डालता है.
सुपरहिट फिल्म विक्रम विधा से चर्चा में आई साउथ की मशहूर कंपनी व्हाई नॉट स्टूडियोज ने इसे रिलायंस एंटरटेनमेंट के साथ बनाया है. माया फिल्म से अपने डायरेक्शन की शुरुआत करने वाले निर्देशक आश्विन श्रवनन की फिल्म ‘गेम ओवर’ का टीज़र वाकई दमदार है.
इसके अलावा तापसी ‘सांड की आँख’ फिल्म में नज़र आने वाली है.
टीज़र के अनुसार, तापसी पन्नू इसमें एक गेम डेवलपर बनी है जो अपने आसपास किसी साये या डबल पेर्सनलिटी को महसूस करती है. इस टीज़र में वो खुद उसी साये से जूझती दिख रही है. इस दौरान उन्हें चोट लगना, व्हीलचेयर पर पहुंचना और इसके बाद भी किसी अनजानी शक्ति को अपने आसपास महसूस करना हम सभी को जरूर सहारा देगा।
तापसी की गेम ओवर इसी 14 जून को सिनेमाघरों में रिलीज़ होने वाली है.
