Ek Ladki Ko Dekha Toh Aisa Laga is an upcoming Indian romance film directed by Shelly Chopra Dhar. The film is a joint production of Vinod Chopra Films and Rajkumar Hirani Films in association with Fox Star Studios. It stars Anil Kapoor, Juhi Chawla, Sonam Kapoor and Rajkummar Rao in the lead roles.The film also feature Regina Cassandra and Madhumalti Kapoor in crucial roles. It marks Bollywood debut of south actress Regina Cassandra.Sonam plays a young Hindu woman falling for a Muslim man, only to have her budding happiness be torn apart when she finds out about her father’s infidelity with a woman who aspires to be an actress.
Some love stories are simple while some love stories are just chaotic. Ek Ladki Ko Dekha Toh Aisa Laga is one such story. What’s the difference between a love story of 1942 and a love story of 2018? As the recently released teaser of Ek Ladki Ko Dekha Toh Aisa Laga puts it, back in 1942, love stories were simple. But cut to 2018 and they are packed with all the ‘syaapa’ (drama). The title of the film is a throwback from 1942: A Love Story song and the name of the film is taking us back to the era.
While the 90s release witnessed Anil Kapoor romancing Manisha Koirala, here we get to see his daughter Sonam getting all lovey-dovey with Rao. Sonam’s character Sweety looked like a girl next door who is a pampered child. The Punjabi kudi Sweety Chaudhary believes that a love story is incomplete without any drama.
Sonam Kapoor is playing a shy and coy Punjabi kudi dressed in pastels, real-life dad Anil Kapoor is also playing Sonam’s father on screen.
Not just that, this will also be Sonam’s first film with father Anil Kapoor. It is a great moment for the father-daughter duo and we are sure it will be a treat for all the fans to see the two Kapoors come together in the same frame. Sonam who had shared screen space with Rajkummar in Dolly Ki Doli will be seen playing the role of his ladylove in this film.Juhi Chawla and Anil Kapoor who are reuniting onscreen almost after a decade look refreshing. The duo has earlier shared the screen in films like Jhooth Bole Kauwa Kaate, Salaam-E-Ishq, Loafer, Benam Badshah and others.Juhi Chawla is also making a short yet significant appearance on screen. We got to see Juhi dancing in red blussh salwar-kameez.In the film, Juhi plays a perky and unbeat character.
The tagline of the movie is A syapa love story making sure that it is nothing like a usual love story that the audience has already seen before.The assertion is that love stories have gone from being “simple” to “syaapa”, or full of problems, in that duration.The film entails some intresting elements.
The film centres around the marriage of Rao and Sonam’s characters, with Anil and Chawla playing Sonam’s parents.
