The latest addition to the series of character posters from Kabir Khan’s upcoming sports drama 83 is of Dinker Sharma as bowler Kirti Azad. 83, which sees Ranveer Singh emulate former Indian skipper Kapil Dev, chronicles Indian cricket team’s historic 1983 World Cup triumph against the West Indies team.
83 boasts of an ensemble which includes Tamil actor Jiiva as K Srikkanth, Saqib Saleem as former Indian all-rounder Mohinder ‘Jimmy’ Amarnath, and Tahir Raj Bhasin as Sunil Gavaskar, and Sacred Games actor Jatin Sarna as Yashpal Sharma from the film. The film also stars Harrdy Sandhu as all-rounder Madan Lal, and Pankaj Tripathi as team manager PR Man Singh. Punjabi actor Ammy Virk has been cast as Balvinder, YouTube personality Sahil Khattar as Syed Kirmani, and Marathi actor Adinath Kothare as Dilip Vengsarkar. Deepika Padukone has been confirmed to play the role of Dev’s wife Romi Bhatia in 83.
Helmed by Kabir Khan, 83′ narrates the historic triumph of the entire Indian team that won the world cup in 1983. The match that was never televised… a world record innings that India never saw… this April the world will see how history was made on that cold windy day in Tunbridge Wells…” director Khan captioned the first still photo on Instagram.
The sports drama will hit theatres on April 10, 2020.

रणवीर सिंह की फिल्म ’83 से कीर्ति आजाद का किरदार निभा रहे दिनकर शर्मा का पोस्टर रिलीज हो गया है। दिनकर का पोस्टर शेयर करते हुए रणवीर सिंह ने लिखा, सबसे शरारती…कीर्ति आजाद।
बता दें कि ’83’ के निर्माताओं ने इससे पहले सुनील गावस्कर की भूमिका में ताहिर राज भसीन, के. श्रीकांत की भूमिका में जीवा, मोहिंदर अमरनाथ के रूप में साकिब सलीम, यशपाल शर्मा की भूमिका में जतिन सरना और संदीप पाटिल के रूप में चिराग पाटिल के लुक शेयर किए गए हैं।
कीर्ति आजाद की बात करें तो वह एक प्रसिद्ध ऑलराउंडर जिन्होंने कई बेहतरीन बल्लेबाज़ों को हैरान कर दिया था। कीर्ति एक आक्रामक दाहिने हाथ के बल्लेबाज और तेज गेंदबाज थे।
जैसे-जैसे फिल्म रिलीज की ओर बढ़ रही है, मेकर्स ने 1983 की टीम के पहले लुक की सीरीज के साथ प्रचार शुरू कर दिया है, जिसने ऐतिहासिक जीत के साथ खुशी से रंग भर दिए थे।
रणवीर सिंह फिल्म में कपिल देव की भूमिका निभा रहे है और दीपिका पादुकोण यहां कपिल देव की पत्नी रोमी देव की भूमिका में एक कैमियो अवतार में दिखाई देंगी।
