Abhishek Dudhaiya directorial Bhuj: The Pride of India was hitting the headlines a few days back when the first look of the movie was released. And now, we have learned that Parineeti Chopra, who was supposed to play the role of a spy in the movie, has opted out of the war drama due to her other work commitments. She is apparently busy with The Girl on the Train remake and Saina biopic. And now, reports are doing rounds on the internet that Nora Fatehi has been roped for the role. However, there is no official announcement from the makers.
Coming to the movie, the war action drama is set against the backdrop of the Indo-Pak war of 1971. It is based on the life of IAF Squadron Leader Vijay Karnik, the then in-charge of the Bhuj airport who had reconstructed the IAF airbase with the help of 300 local women and his team. Ajay Devgn plays the role of Karnik. Aside from Nora and Ajay, the movie also stars Sanjay Dutt, Sonakshi Sinha, Rana Daggubati, Ammy Virk, and Pranitha Subhash.
Nora, she is currently gearing up for her two movies, Street Dancer 3D and Baaghi 3. She is best known for her dance numbers such as Dilbar, Kamariya and O Saki Saki among others.

समय से अजय देवगन की मुख्य भूमिका वाली फिल्म ‘भुज: द प्राइड ऑफ इंडिया’ चर्चा में है। पहले इस फिल्म में एक जासूस के रोल के लिए परिणीति चोपड़ा को कास्ट किया गया था लेकिन बिजी शेड्यूल के कारण उन्होंने यह फिल्म छोड़ दी। अब बताया जा रहा है कि इस फिल्म में परिणीति वाला रोल नोरा फतेही को मिल गया है और कुछ ही दिनों में वह इसकी शूटिंग शुरू करने जा रही हैं।
परिणीति इस समय अपनी आने वाली फिल्म साइना नेहवाल की बायॉपिक और मिस्ट्री-थ्रिलर फिल्म ‘द गर्ल ऑन द ट्रेन’ में बिजी हैं और इसीलिए उन्होंने ‘भुज’ छोड़ दी। एक सूत्र के मुताबिक, नोरा ने फिल्म में अपने रोल के लिए वर्कशॉप शुरू कर दी है और एक जासूस जैसी बॉडी लैंग्वेज पर काम कर रही हैं। 12 जनवरी से नोरा अपने रोल की शूटिंग शुरू कर देंगी जो 15 दिन चलेगी।
‘भुज: प्राइड ऑफ इंडिया’ साल 1971 के भारत-पाकिस्तान युद्ध पर बनी है। फिल्म में अजय देवगन स्क्वॉड्रन लीडर विजय कार्णिक का किरदार निभा रहे हैं। कार्णिक ने युद्ध के समय पाकिस्तान की भीषण गोलाबारी के बावजूद अपने एयरबेस को ऑपरेशनल रखा था। फिल्म में सोनाक्षी सिन्हा, संजय दत्त, राणा दग्गुबाती और ऐमी विर्क भी महत्वपूर्ण भूमिकाओं में दिखाई देंगे।
