Bugatti has always been known for its exotic hypercar lineup. These cars are not only one of the most extravagant ones but are also notoriously fast. So much so that they have held the record for the top speed achieved by a car for different times in history. Now, it is that time again!
A modified Bugatti Chiron just broke the top speed record of being the fastest hypercar in a straight line. This record was previously held by Koenigsegg Agera Rs, which, ironically, it had snatched from Bugatti Veyron 16.4 Super Sport. Well, looks like Bugatti has had its revenge now.
A purpose-built Chiron took to the famous Ehra-Lessien in Germany for the attempt. And guess what, it nailed it! The modified Chiron clocked a mind boggling speed of 490.48 kmph, trumping the Agera RS’ record by more than 40 kmph.
The purpose-built Bugatti Chiron was driven by Andy Wallace for the record. As for the car itself, the modification on it included a long-tail aero concept that made this unit 25 cm longer than the current Chiron Sport. It even removed the passenger seat to make it a dedicated one-seater. Backed by a quad-turbo W16 8.0-litre engine, the fastest car produced a whopping 1,578 PS of power during the run. The vehicle was built in cooperation with Ballarat and Michelin.

जब भी दुनिया की बेहतरीन कारों की चर्चा होती है तो उनके स्पीड का जिक्र जरूर होता है। फ्रांस की प्रमुख स्पोर्ट कार निर्माता कंपनी Bugatti ऐसी ही बेहतरीन कारों के निर्माण के लिए मशहूर है। हाल ही में कंपनी ने अपनी नई कार Bugatti Chiron के स्पोर्ट वर्जन की टेस्टिंग की है जिसने 490 किलोमीटर प्रतिघंटा की रफ्तार से दौड़कर दुनिया की सबसे फास्टेस्ट कार होने का खिताब अपने नाम किया है।
ये सामान्य Bugatti Chiron के स्टैंडर्ड वर्जन से अलग है, कंपनी ने इसके डिजाइन में थोड़ा बदलाव किया है। विशेषकर इसके पिछले हिस्से को और भी ज्यादा स्लोपी बनाया गया है ताकि तेज रफ्तार में इसका एरोडायनमिक डिजाइन हवा को चीरते हुए आगे बढ़ सके। इस कार को खाली रोड़ पर टेस्ट किया गया है जिसके दौरान इसने 304.773 मिल प्रतिघंटा यानी कि तकरीबन 490.48 किलोमीटर प्रतिघंटा की रफ्तार दर्ज की है।
इस कार में कंपनी ने 8 लीटर की क्षमता का क्वॉड टर्बो W16 इंजन का प्रयोग किया है। जो कि 1,578 bhp की पावर जेनरेट करता है। इसमें आल व्हील ड्राइव गियरबॉक्स का प्रयोग किया गया है। इसके अलावा इसमें Michelin के पायलट स्पोर्ट कप 2 टायर को शामिल किया गया है। ड्राइविंग के दौरान इस कार का पिकअप भी बेहद शानदार रहा है, इस कार ने महज 3 सेकेंड में ही 100 किलोमीटर प्रतिघंटा की रफ्तार पकड़ी है। स्टैंडर्ड Bugatti Chiron की ग्लोबल मार्केट में शुरुआती कीमत 30 लाख डॉलर है यानी कि भारतीय मुद्रा में इसकी कीमत तकरीबन 21.57 करोड़ रुपये होगी। हालांकि ये कार भारतीय बाजार में उपलब्ध नहीं है।
