Ayushmann Khurana’s film Article 15 continues its dream-run at the box office on its fourth day. Ayushmann Khurana’s film Article 15 is running steady at the box office on its fourth day. The film opened on a good note at the box office and earned Rs 5.02 crore on its Day 1, followed by Rs 7.25 crore on its second day. The box office collection of Article 15 rose on Sunday taking the numbers to a whopping 7.77 crore despite India Vs England World Cup match. Anubhav Sinha’s directorial is based on Article 15 of the Indian Constitution which prohibits discrimination on grounds of religion, race, caste, sex or place of birth.
The storyline for the socio-political drama film has been inspired from true life events, including 2014 Badaun gang rape and 2016 Una flogging incident. Ayushmann Khurrana, the protagonist, is playing a police officer in the film. Article 15 is written by Gaurav Solanki and Anubhav Sinha and also stars Isha Talwar, Sayani Gupta, Kumud Mishra and Manoj Pahwa in significant roles.
Article 15 has been appreciated and received well by fans as well as critics. India Today reviewer Lakshana N Palat wrote in her review, “In a world of Bollywood cinema, where chest-thumping and nauseating patriotism is celebrated, it is safe to say Article 15 is a daring and well-meaning courageous film.Unlike Karan Johar’s glossy Dhadak, which tiptoed around caste in its film even though the original Sairat was hard-hitting, Article 15 plunges right in, unabashedly.” Produced by Zee Studios and Benaras Media Works, Article 15 was selected as the opening film for the 10th edition of London Indian Film Festival, which premiered on June 20.

आयुष्मान खुराना की फ़िल्म आर्टिकल 15 बॉक्स ऑफ़िस पर डटी हुई है। ओपनिंग वीकेंड में ठीकठाक कलेक्शन करने के बाद फ़िल्म ने पहले सोमवार को भी अपना दम दिखाया और 3.97 करोड़ रुपये का कलेक्शन किया है।
सोमवार को वर्किंग वीक शुरू होने की वजह से फ़िल्मों के बॉक्स ऑफ़िस कलेक्शंस आम तौर पर गिरते ही हैं, लेकिन आर्टिकल 15 के कलेक्शंस में अधिक गिरावट नहीं है। ओपनिंग कलेक्शंस के मुक़ाबले यह गिरावट लगभग 20 फ़ीसदी ही है। अब 4 दिनों में आर्टिकल 15 के बॉक्स ऑफ़िस कलेक्शंस 24.01 करोड़ रुपये पर पहुंच गये हैं। छोटे बजट की इस फ़िल्म को जानकार हिट मान रहे हैं।
अगर आयुष्मान खुराना की पिछली फ़िल्मों को देखें तो कुछ ऐसा ही ट्रेंड रहा है। फ़िल्म की ओपनिंग अमूमन सिंगल डिजिट में रहती है, मगर धीरे-धीरे फ़िल्म हिट हो जाती है। आर्टिकल 15, 28 जून को सिनेमाघरों में पहुंची। पहले दिन फ़िल्म ने 5.02 करोड़ रुपये का कलेक्शन किया था। शनिवार को 7.25 करोड़ रुपये और रविवार को 7.77 करोड़ रुपये जुटा लिये, जिसके साथ ओपनिंग वीकेंड में ही फ़िल्म न 20.04 करोड़ रुपये जमा कर लिये थे।
अनुभव सिन्हा निर्देशित आर्टिकल 15 एक संजीदा फ़िल्म है, जो उत्तर प्रदेश में हुई दुष्कर्म की एक जघन्य घटना से प्रेरित है। फ़िल्म के ज़रिए समाज में जातिगत भेदभाव के मुद्दे को रेखांकित करती फ़िल्म में इस सिस्टम पर कड़ा प्रहार किया गया है।
आर्टिकल 15 में आयुष्मान खुराना आईपीएस अफ़सर की भूमिका में हैं। विक्की डोनर से अपना बॉलीवुड करियर शुरू करने वाले आयुष्मान पहली बार पुलिस ऑफ़िसर बने हैं और उनके काम की काफ़ी तारीफ़ हुई है। फ़िल्म में ईशा तलवार, शायोनी गुप्ता और कुमुद मिश्रा ने अहम भूमिकाएं निभायी हैं।
